01 · The Context & Challenge
The build was greenfield: take a commerce product from concept to production. The constraint that shaped everything else was that two very different frontends — a web app and a companion mobile app — had to run on the same backend without drift.
02 · Technical Contributions
- Designed and developed the RESTful APIs powering both the web frontend and the companion mobile app.
- Built the complete e-commerce system from the ground up — product catalog, cart, checkout, and order management — taken from concept to production.
- Integrated four payment gateways (PayPal, JazzCash, Braintree, Stripe), expanding checkout coverage across international and local payment methods.
- Built a real-time chat system using Laravel WebSockets, enabling instant messaging between users and cutting reliance on page-refresh polling for live updates.
03 · Architectural Highlights
REST contracts designed so the mobile app and the web app consume the same resources — features ship to both without forking business logic.
PayPal and Braintree for international checkout; JazzCash and Stripe covering local and card-based flows — integrated and maintained in production.
Laravel WebSockets replaced page-refresh polling with push-based instant messaging between users.
Awarded Employee of the Quarter and a Punctuality Certificate (2023) for consistent delivery and reliability.
